I had such a great time working with Beth and her kids while they visited Gatlinburg, TN on their spring break. They traveled from Kansas to explore the great outdoors and see all the things Gatlinburg has to offer. Prior to our session I was a little nervous because the gorgeous spring weather dropped down into the 20s and snow was forecasted a week out from our session. National Parks don’t do much when it does snow so I was hoping it held off! Luckily it did and even though it was chilly, an afternoon session allowed it to warm up enough for a perfect family session in the Smoky Mountains!
Upon meeting Beth’s family, the kids excitedly told me how much fun they had at the Sky Bridge and how high it was! When I asked the oldest boy if he was enjoying the trip, he exclaimed “This is the best trip ever and this place is so cool!” Not only was he excited about the attractions, but they were just as excited about throwing sticks into the creek during our session!
The Smoky Mountains have so many different options when it comes to types of backgrounds for your photo session. I loved this campground location because it offers tall trees, less traffic during the spring months, and a stream to provide you with a water option. Other options obviously include the rolling mountains in the background off of Foothills Parkway or in the Smoky Mountains near Laurel Falls (though this would be more crowded). Basically you can’t go wrong if you choose to take photos here, but you will have to decide what you want as your scenery!
