When Sarah reached out about wanting family photos taken during their trip to Townsend, TN, I was happy to help! I love the quiet side of Townsend which is still close to the Smokies but without all the bustle of Gatlinburg, TN. We decided to meet along the Foothills Parkway. I chose a pull off called Little River Overlook because it not only has mountain views but also provided some woodsy views as well. It allowed us to get the best of both worlds and was closer to the Townsend side. I met Sarah’s family of 4 at the overlook, but the sun was still a little high so we focused on the woods background.
Once the sun started to go down behind the trees a little, we were able to capture some great shots of the kids and have a little fun!
Then we drove about 15 minutes to the middle of the parkway. It opens up to a gorgeous view of the Smoky Mountains, but it more crowded and on this day there were lots of supped up low riders.
I do love a good sunset and even more when there are mountains being lit up! Even with the craziness of others trying to get fabulous photos of the sunset, we were able to get some wonderful photos of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.
