Senior Session in the Smokies

When Ellie contacted me about doing a senior session in the Smoky Mountains, I was very excited to work with her. She and her family were coming in from Maryland, and she wanted to do something I little different from the normal bay look in Maryland. When emailing with her, she already had her outfits picked out and knew she wanted a mountain background. She was very easy to work with, which was great because I was out of the country while scheduling her country so I was working 6 hours ahead!

Gatlinburg, Tennessee got hit with a lot of rain the week of her session and we actually had to rescedule due to thunderstorms the night of her session (and Dollywood even flooded). The next day it rained in the morning but the evening was perfectly overcast which made for great lighting. Upon meeting Ellie and her mom, I instantly knew we were going to have fun! She showed up in a sun dress and cowgirl boots and she is not even from the south! LOVE IT!! We started with a woodsy background along the Foothills Parkway and used the trees as props for the country look! Ellie was also down to try different poses which was fabulous.

Her second outfit was an adorable romper that I wish I could pull off and then remember I like to go to the bathroom without undressing! 😂 The teal color looked great on her and I got some genuine smiles so I was easily able to capture how stunningly beautiful she is. I love the photo of her sitting down with the mountains in the background. The Smoky Mountains never disappoint.

For her final outfit she had a boho style midi dress, which was so pretty. I loved the barefoot setting with the trees and tall grass. With so many different outfits and backdrops all at one stop along the Foothills Parkway in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, we were able to get several different shots of Ellie. I love it when I genuinely walk away from a session so excited to edit the photos and see how they turn out! I wish I got to more senior sessions in the mountains!
