While still exploring Knoxville, TN I headed east of town and found a gorgeous park, Seven Islands Birding Park. This was my first time doing a session here, and it did not disappoint. The park is known for its zinnia flower field. The zinnia’s were gorgeous and though I saw them towards the end of the season, I can only imagine the sight when the field is in full bloom!
While walking along the path, we came across several deer. And what makes seeing wildlife even sweeter? Well fawns of course! The boys were ecstatic to see them!
The weather was perfect for this late summer photo session. And as usual, with little ones you want to capture their sweet innocent side too. So we always try to get siblings or friends to hug to show this side. IN this case the love was more focused on throwing rocks into the ditch! 😂 But that’s life, right?!? We did capture a few moments though!
Seven Islands Park is a great location for walks and family time too. It would be great for bike rides with the family as well. You can see the mountains in the background, take pictures in the zinnias field, and along the tall grass. Such a variety of backgrounds. I didn’t walk the mile or more down to the water, but it wouldn’t be far on a bike or for a run. I will definitely be returning to this East Tennessee gem just outside of Knoxville, TN.
